How to get rid of bad smells in the fridge

thanks to sodium bicarbonate

A clean fridge ensures that your food is kept in good condition. However, despite good maintenance, unpleasant odours can sometimes settle in. Food leftovers, out-of-date products or just a mixture of aromas, the smell can quickly become unpleasant when you open the door. Fortunately, there’s a simple, natural and effective way to get rid of these unpleasant odours: baking soda. This multi-purpose product, which is both economical and harmless to health, is an ideal ally for neutralising stubborn odours and leaving your fridge feeling fresh again, effortlessly.

Empty and clean your fridge

Start by removing the food and cleaning the surfaces with a mixture of warm water and white vinegar. This will give you a clean start.

A dish, small bowl or ramekin will do the trick.

Pour around 2 to 3 tablespoons of sodium bicarbonate into the container.

Place it in a stable corner, preferably on a middle shelf for even absorption.

Baking soda absorbs unpleasant odours naturally and discreetly. It is effective for about a month.

Remember to replace the bicarbonate every 4 to 6 weeks to maintain its effectiveness.
