Surface preparation :
• Make sure the wall is clean, dry and smooth.
• Remove any traces of flaking paint, residue or dust.
• Fill any holes and cracks with a suitable filler, then sand to smooth the surface.
Materials required :
• Fibreglass wall.
• Special fibreglass glue.
• Spatula or trowel.
• Cutter.
• Roller and brush for glue.
• Paint (if necessary).
Application :
Measuring and cutting :
• Measure the height of the walls and cut the fibreglass strips, leaving a 5 cm margin at the top and bottom.
Applying the adhesive :
• Apply the special adhesive evenly to the wall using a roller or brush, over an area corresponding to one strip.
Laying the strip :
• Position the fibreglass strip on the wall, starting from the top. Leave a margin at the top and bottom.
Smoothing :
• Use a spatula or mop to smooth the strip and eliminate any air bubbles.
Trimming the margins :
• Using a cutter, trim the excess at the top and bottom.
Laying the next strips :
• Lay the next strips edge to edge (without overlapping) and repeat steps 3 to 5.
Finishing :
• Once all the strips have been laid, leave to dry for 24 hours.
• Apply a suitable fibreglass underlay.
• Paint with the colour of your choice for optimum aesthetic results.
Practical advice :
• Work in a ventilated area to avoid moisture build-up.
• Prepare all the materials in advance for quick and efficient installation.
• Wear gloves to protect your hands during application.
