Materials required :
• Glass mural
• Specific glue for glass voile
• Spatula or trowel brush
• Knife or cutter
• Tape measure
• Pencil
• Ruler or level
• Roller and brush
Steps to follow :
Preparing the surface :
• Make sure the wall is clean, dry and dust-free.
• Fill any holes or cracks with a filler and leave to dry.
Cutting the glass mat :
• Measure the height of the walls.
• Cut the glass mat to the desired size, leaving a few extra centimetres for adjustments.
Applying the adhesive :
• Apply the adhesive evenly to the wall using a roller or brush, over an area corresponding to one strip width.
Laying the glass mat :
• Position the first strip of glass matting on the wall, starting at the top.
• Smooth the voile with a spatula or trowel brush to eliminate any air bubbles.
Adjusting and cutting :
• Trim the edges of the voile if necessary and cut off any excess with a cutter.
• Lay the next strips edge to edge (without overlapping).
Finishing :
• Check that there are no creases or bubbles.
• Let dry according to the adhesive manufacturer’s recommendations.
Paint application :
• Once dry, apply an undercoat of paint suitable for glass fleece.
• Then apply two coats of paint for a perfect finish.
Advice :
• Work in a well-ventilated area.
• Use a sharp cutter to make clean cuts.
• If you’re working on a large wall, enlist the help of a second person to hold the voile while you lay it.
Your wall is now ready for a long-lasting, attractive finish !
