Preparation :
• Make sure the firebox contains glowing embers.
• Do not remove the paper wrapping from the log; it is designed to burn safely with the log.
Frequency of use :
Depending on your annual consumption in steres of wood or tonnes of coal:
• If less than 1 stere of wood or tonne of coal: 1 log / year.
• If between 1 and 3 steres of wood or tonnes of coal: 1 to 2 logs / year.
• If between 3 and 5 steres of wood or tonnes of coal: 2 to 3 logs / year.
• If between 5 and 7 steres of wood or tonnes of coal: 3 to 5 logs / year.
• If more than 7 steres of wood or tonnes of coal: 5 logs / year.

Usage :
• Build a good fire to heat the flue and soften the tar.
• Place the log wrapped in its bag on the embers.
• Light the ends of the wrapping if necessary to facilitate ignition.
• Refill with fuel and maintain a high draught.
• The chimney sweep log will burn evenly and burn for about 1 hour.
After burning :
• Incrusted deposits will gradually be destroyed by catalysis.
• It is advisable to carry out a mechanical sweep to remove any remaining powdery residue.
Precautions for use :
• Use only on glowing embers, never on live flames.
• Store the log in a dry place, away from moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
This product complements mechanical chimney sweeping, which is still compulsory once or twice a year under current legislation.
