Chimney sweeping maintenance

Frequency of use :

Depending on your annual consumption in steres of wood or tonnes of coal:
• If less than 1 stere of wood or tonne of coal: 2 doses / month.
• If between 1 and 3 steres of wood or tonnes of coal: 2 doses / week.
• If between 3 and 5 steres of wood or tonnes of coal: 2 to 4 doses / week.
• If between 5 and 7 steres of wood or tonnes of coal: 4 to 6 doses / week.
• If more than 7 steres of wood or tonnes of coal: 6 to 8 doses / week.
(These values are given as a guide)

Dosage :

• Using the measuring spoon provided, adjust the quantity of powder according to the size of your appliance and the level of clogging in the flue.

Application :

• Build a good fire to heat the flue, and then slow down the pace of the fire when applying to improve the contact time between the sublimated vapours and the flue.
• Spread the product over the embers.
• It is advisable to carry out a mechanical sweeping to eliminate any remaining powdery residues.

Precautions for use :

• Use only on glowing embers, never on live flames.
• Keep the jar in a dry place, away from moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• The product is neither flammable nor explosive, so it can under no circumstances cause chimney fires when used.
• The product’s effectiveness has been officially tested and proven.
• Our dosages and uses are the result of our experience and are given as an indication for ‘normally clogged’ flues.
• It is up to the user to adapt the dosages according to their needs.
• However, if the deposits of cullet, soot or tar are too heavy and block the flue, the risk of a chimney fire remains.

This product complements mechanical chimney sweeping, which is still compulsory once or twice a year under current legislation.
