Chimney sweeping once a year

Frequency of use :

Depending on your annual consumption in steres of wood or tonnes of coal:
• If less than 1 stere of wood or tonne of coal: 1 sachet / year.
• If between 1 and 10 steres of wood or tonnes of coal: 1 box / year.
• If more than 10 steres of wood or tonnes of coal: 2 sachets / year.

Application :

• Run the heater at maximum output for a few minutes to thoroughly heat the flue and firebox and obtain a good ember.
• Then reduce the draught (without cutting it off).
• Place the first sachet on the embers.
• As the product burns slowly, it releases an active smoke that reacts with the soot and tar on contact with the walls of the appliance and flue, drying them out and making them crumbly and powdery.
• The product burns off in 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the draught.
• The entire surface of the flue is thus treated, even the most inaccessible areas.
• 24 hours later, repeat the treatment with a second sachet.
• 48 hours later, use the third sachet to remove the particles.
• The smallest particles will fall into the fireplace or be evacuated by the draught, while the largest will be easily removed by mechanical sweeping.

After treatment :

• The encrusted deposits will gradually be destroyed by catalysis. It is advisable to sweep the chimney mechanically to remove any remaining powdery residue.

Precautions for use :

• Use only on glowing embers, never on live flames.
• Store sachets in a dry place away from moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• The product is neither flammable nor explosive, so it can under no circumstances cause chimney fires when used.
• The product’s effectiveness has been officially tested and proven.
• Our dosages and uses are the result of our experience and are given as an indication for ‘normally clogged’ flues.
• It is up to the user to adapt the dosages to suit their needs.
• However, if the deposits of cullet, soot or tar are too heavy and block the flue, the risk of a chimney fire remains.

This product complements mechanical chimney sweeping, which is still compulsory once or twice a year under current legislation.
